Hellooo!!
You may have seen that I scheduled two Art Club sessions this month… That’s because my Zoom updated before I started the session and turned off the automatic record function! So the first session didn’t get recorded! But, like a trooper, I scheduled one for the next day, and remembered to press record, and so, voila! I have a replay for you!
In this session I was exploring textures and mark-making, as well as doing a warm-up session focused on those things. As I often do, I chose an image from an old charity shop book with lots of brilliant ceramic figurines in.
I loved making these, and it seems that they have been popular too, because the one I made in the first session (pictured below) got snapped up by one of the participants of the session, and I put the ones I made in this recorded session on Instagram, and immediately sold three of them!
As it happens, last weekend I was due to participate in the Illustration Fair in Kings Cross. It was my forth time, and it feels like it’s beginning to feel like a highlight of my calendar! As these seemed to be quite popular, and just as important to me, I really enjoyed making them, I decided to make some more to sell at the fair, so I spent a happy afternoon the day before the fair painting away, and as well as the cherubs, I painted some Goddess statues as well - bare breast alert! Here I am with the brilliant (and my BFF)
(check out and follow her Substack!) with some of them on the wall behind me!I have a few left, so I thought I would offer them to you, my lovely Subscribers. Just send me an email at ellabeechbooks@gmail.com and let me know which one you want. They are £25 each (for a piece of original art - what?! Yes, you heard me!) And I am happy to offer my paid subscribers an extra £5 off, just let me know you are a paid sub in the email and I can verify your email address. It costs just £4.50 per month to be a paid subscriber, so maybe you want to take this chance to try membership for a month, and grab a piece of original art for £20!? Here they are pictured for you, the pink you can see in the cheeks is fluoro.
Ok, so on with the replay. I hope you enjoy!
Ella xx
The replay is below for paid subscribers:
If you enjoy my Substack and want to show your support, I would love it if you would consider becoming a paid subscriber. I really appreciate every single paid subscriber (and if you are already subscribed, thank you, from the bottom of my heart). All subs help me to continue making illustrated books, and creating posts here on Substack. And as well as supporting me, you get benefits too. What?! Yes, you heard me! You get access to my big catalogue of paid posts, and access to my monthly Zoom sessions, Art Club and Picture Book Club. And if you can’t attend live, all sessions are recorded and posted afterwards.
