Hello everyone! I won't write loads here, as hopefully, the video replay is self-explanatory.
Here is a re-cap of the session:
WHAT?
For our loose theme, I thought it would be fun to think about RUBBING. What can you achieve if you RUB your materials?! I'm thinking smudging, erasing, blending taking a rubbing, so you can incorporate textures.
MATERIALS:
You will need:
- paper - ideally A3 or bigger
- art materials - think about things that can be rubbed and smudged.
- an eraser, for RUBBING out
- some implements that you can use for rubbing, tissues, sticks, just grab what comes to hand
- maybe some textured surfaces (floorboards, bumpy paper? sandpaper?)
- anything else that comes to mind
(don't panic if you can't find all of this, just bring what you can find in your house/studio.
HOW:
As always, I will lead the session, and focus the camera above my paper, meaning you can play along with me, or go off-piste in your own direction. I will choose a picture from my ceramics book I think, and will share in the chat on the night. I enjoyed drawing from that last time!
I will add that it was hard to not get caught up in what I was doing, so I definitely encourage you to experiment with all your materials and don't forget to RUB, SMUDGE and generally play with the theme.
I hope you enjoy, and looking forward to the next one!
Ella xx
