Hello to you all!
I am writing this to let you know about a few new and favourite product restocks I have just added to my shop.
ZINES! ZINES! ZINES!
I have just done a big reprint of my zines, as I recently completely sold out of most of them, and I had a number of reprint requests. I am happy to stay they are all back in stock now!
PLUS, I have a new cover to reveal and two brand-new zines to reveal. If you want to skip straight to the new zines, feel free to scroll down to the next divider…
The first zine I made was my Tenby Zine, in summer 2022. It was a sort of love-letter to Tenby, a small seaside town in Pembrokeshire that I have been going to since I was 18 months old.
I just did a cover and insides refresh for it, so it matches all my other zines. Here’s a look through!
My next foray into zine making I went much closer to home. I knew I wanted to make more, as I had really enjoyed the process of making and selling the Tenby zine. I looked through my sketchbooks and I saw some themes emerging. Lots of drawings and paintings made in our back garden, which had become somewhat of a refuge during and after the Pandemic; and many made by the river, which we live 5 minutes away from. I collected them together and made my next two zines Garden Zine and River Zine. This latest reprint of them is edition 4. As a little fun for me, I like to add which edition each reprint is, which I add on the last spread, with my contact details and copyright.
Since then, I have begun to add new zines with each reprint. This time I made some follow-up zines Garden Book 2 and River Book 2 with brand new sketchbook work, made in 2021-2. Plus, I thought it would be fun to make a Cambridge zine; because I live here, I know it as less of a tourist and I love finding little hidden nooks and spaces to paint around and about in Cambridge, so I called it Hidden Cambridge Sketches.
This is a little look through them…
And today I am excited to show you two BRAND NEW zines hot off the press!
Trieste & Croatia is a collection of sketches made on our holiday this summer. If you read my last post, you will have seen some of my thoughts and insights I had on holiday and how much I enjoyed having a chance to get out and about sketching again. I hope that love comes across in this collection!
Inspired by sketches of people I made by the beach this summer, I thought it would be fun (and inspiring for me to keep doing it!) to collect some of my many people sketches from my sketchbooks over the last few years. I have found drawing people regularly like this has really helped me develop the confidence to make characters for my illustration work, and I hope some of you might enjoy looking through them all.
Here’s a little flick-through of them.
In the interest of keeping this post shortish, I will end here, but with a little shout-out to my concertina cards, which get a little bit lost on my website (I fear).
… and did you know you can pick up a piece of original art for just £45. I have nearly sold out of this little series of “small square” paintings, so if you want one, this is probably your last chance.
Thanks for taking the time to look through. Until next time!
Ella xx
