This Week's Art Play Date
Date, time and all the info!
Hello! How are you all doing? I’m in prep mode for my first-ever launch party for my first-ever book - The Night Before Christmas, published by The Folio Society - which is taking place this Friday. It’s been a lot of fun organising the launch with the wonderful team at The Folio Society, and I am nervous and excited in equal parts. I am in organising mode at the moment, and I’m sure the nerves will hit big-time on Thursday & Friday! Eep!

Ok, so onto business. This Weds is our next Art Play Date! I’m really excited to do some playful, intuitive, messy art-making. I just realised it’s been going for eleven months now! I gathered together some of the art I’ve made on the dates, and it makes me feel inspired and full of possibilities just to look at it!
Here are all the details you need:
WHEN?
Weds Nov 22nd, 8pm BST. Here is a handy timezone converter for your timezone. Zoom link below (for paid subscribers)
THEME?
I’m keeping it super broad, and we’ll say intuitive art-making. I fancy drawing from some more pottery figurines, so I’ll choose a picture for the night, or bring your own figurine (or picture), and we’ll just follow our instincts. You can follow me or do your own thing. I’ll begin with a warm-up, as usual, and then we’ll just play and get messy and have some fun!
MATERIALS:
You will need:
- paper - ideally A3 or bigger
- art materials - bring a selection of things you want to explore this week. What do you feel drawn to? Grab it, and bring it along!
- some implements that you can use for rubbing, scraping, sticking, mark-making - just grab what comes to hand.
HOW:
As always, I will lead the session, and focus the camera above my paper, meaning you can play along with me, or go off-piste in your own direction.
