JANUARY SCHEDULE

Motivation Monthly
Unscheduled

I normally host this as a live session, but I am experimenting with making this a written post instead. From February onwards, I will be writing one post per month called Motivation Monthly where I will guide you through a creative check-in, helping you celebrate everything you achieved (big or small) the previous month - and ideally, help you recognise the things you actually got done which normally get lost to the mists of time - with a ta-da list. Set some goals, check-in on goals, and generally make time for reflection on your creative goals with worksheets that I’ve specially designed.

This month, I am doing an extra special Motivation Month with three separate posts dedicated to helping us all with a gentle creative re-set and intention setting this January.

1. Reflecting on 2023 - I have already written this post, and kept it open for all subscribers, paid and free. You can access it here. I hope some of you have been writing your ta-da lists already!

2. The second will be Visualisation - designed to help you make space to dream, hope, and point yourself in the right direction this coming year. This will include worksheets and exercises to help you think everything through.

3. Finally there will be one for Setting Intentions designed to help you set creative goals, write lists, and generally set creative intentions for the year ahead, with a specially designed worksheet.

Art Play Date
Weds 17th January, 8-9pm GMT

This is your monthly “Art Play Date” where I will set a gentle intention for the session and lead you through an intuitive art play session. Designed to get you out of your logical thinking brain, and into your free-flowing intuitive self! Look out for a separate post with more details soon.

Picture Book Club
Tuesday 23rd October 8pm

This is my monthly book club, but because I am a children’s book nerd, in my book club we read a picture book each month! I announce the book at the beginning of the month, and suggest some questions for you to consider, and then we will have a live Zoom together at the end of the month to chat all about it! Look out for a separate post about his, once we have decided on the book.

At the end of last month’s Club (which was a Christmas Party, and so I didn’t record it) we discussed book choices for this month and came up with a shortlist. So, I am trying a poll this month. And if you would like to suggest a book for next month, why don’t you add it to the comments below?

Don’t Forget The Bacon by Pat Hutchins
I think I must relate to this story of a forgetful boy, who’s given a list of things to buy for tea and gets into a right muddle!

This is New York by Miroslav Sasek
One of the books from the iconic series “This is…” featuring cities (and countries) like London, Paris, Edinburgh and New. York written and illustrated by Miroslav Sasek in the 1960s

Madeline by Ludwig Bemelmans
Originally published in 1939, Madeline is seen as one of the early classic picture books, this is the first in the Madeline series, and Bemelmans went on to publish seven more.

And a little parting note to say, I am working on a book deadline this January, so I won’t do an other posts this month, but I normally like to do a recorded video each month, which might be looking through completed sketchbooks, process videos where I film myself doing some painting, or they might be a chatty studio update or vlog. I have quite a big backlist of videos which you can watch here, and I am in the process of adding all my old Patreon videos too, so keep your eyes open for those.
