An interesting read Ella. It resonates in many ways. Middles for me are always the hard part. Where energy flags or perhaps it dissipates as I know I have time so I'm not focused. I have to stop myself being complacent!

Oh yes, that is so true Polly!! The complacent middle- that could be a whole other newsletter! I guess, it’s reminding yourself (myself) how useful forward momentum is. It’s so much easier to keep going if you don’t stop somehow! What do you think helps you keep going? X

I like stopping. I like the end of things ..books, courses etc. For me endings are the next beginning. But I do like doing nothing after an ending. If that all makes sense! When a project ends I am depleted, so I need to reboot with gardening, pottering, dreaming and staring out of windows. Then after a 2-4 weeks I'm desperate to get creating again. The best thing I ever did was block out 6 weeks last Yr. It was actually v productive but I didn't realise it. So, I love August when publishing world goes quiet. Permission to go awol xx

That’s a great thought. Really taking the time after a project ends until you get bored and really want to create again!! I’m terrible at resting, one of the things I am always trying to make time for, then failing! But it could be the time of life I am at, feeling pressure to keep going because I am restarting my creative life in my forties! X

So helpful and insightful Ella, especially as I’m in my own ending and beginning and adrift middle!

I suppose the good thing about an ending is you know there is a beginning waiting for you. I hope it is an exciting beginning - I’m sure it will be! Xxx
