Hello! And Happy June!
I’m coming to you today with all the dates you need for my live meet-ups in July - the two Art Club dates, Picture Book Club, and now, the brand new Accountability Club! This has been brilliant, for me at least, I’ve aready built up a stack of new paintings, and I felt much more fluent and warmed up for when I started painting my new book. Win-win. I post the times for each week here, and you can also see all these dates there too.
But for now, I’m going to keep this short and sweet, as I’m off on holiday for a week tomorrow and I haven’t started to pack - eek!

Co-working schedule w/c 30th July:
I can only do Monday this week, as we’re going on holiday for a week, from Monday midday. Back to business as normal next week! Sorry to have a break in our routine so soon, I suggest you keep up the routine, so you’re ready to step back in once I get back. Or you can take a week’s holiday from it too!
Twice every month I run these fun, informal and playful art sessions. I choose a theme or material I want to play around with and you can either join in, or go off-piste, and do your own thing. I might spend a session playing with wet textures, playing around with how things bleed, mix together and blend. Other times I might grab a handful of random materials and play around with those together. All previous Art Play Dates are available as replays, and each new session adds to the back catalogue to watch and play along with.
I was recommended Luma for creating meetings, so you can all add the dates to your calendars, and the time-zones become much less confusing too! So I’ve added links below to register for the events, and add them to your calendars.
July Art Club Dates:
Session 1: Tuesday 8th July, 12.30 - 1.30pm GMT

Theme:
May Art Club 1: Let’s do some MORE self-portraits again! I’ve really enjoyed our sessions and I’m thinking this time maybe we could all try zooming out a bit? Head and shoulders…? sitting…? Standing! As usual, I’ll start with some exercises to help us get in the groove, and then we’ll create some self prtraits!
July Art Club 2: I’ll set up a still life, probably with some ceramics and flowers, possibly a banana!
One of my favourite things about the MA was when we looked at picture books together and analysed them, so I am thrilled to run this on my Substack. I announce the book at the beginning of the month and then we have a live Zoom together and chat all about it! It is available as a replay afterwards for those who can't make it.

Book Choice:
Our Picture Book Club choice this month is the wonderful I Am the Subway by Kim Hyo-eun. I really think this is a special book, such beautiful and clever illustrations and a wonderful concept. I think this will be a good one!!
