When you said you love painting brown bananas I proper lolled 😂 I absolutely love the second to last image - of the ladies and dog against white. That feels quite different and I love it. More please! I also find this post really inspiring - I’ve been trying so hard to carve out an hour each day for personal work and I agree, you make leaps and bounds in short spaces of time. Mine has been a little thwarted by being away but it’s such a valuable thing - it’s so strange that I don’t value personal development as being as important as work, especially when it’s that that information my commissioned work so much! It’s a mindset shift I’m trying to work on!
Thanks Claire! I think that’s my fave too!! Interesting to note you like the white background - I overthink and always assume people want colour!
I’m exactly the same, which is why I’ve been rhapsodising about this time I’ve been putting in, and all the work I’ve got out of it already!! If you wanted to join in, it would be fab to see you there some time! I found all I needed was some accountability, as always! Which is annoying, but at least it works!! 😘 😘
I loved reading this so much! Not just because I’m completely on board with a bit of ‘do a little stuff for yourself every day and see how it adds up’, but also because this feels like an incredible turn of the corner for you in your practice and it’s really inspiring to see. What a huge symbol of the trust you’ve developed in yourself, to ringfence some juicy creative time each day JUST FOR YOU. You super deserve it Ella - v. nice.
And I feel that your favorite artworks are your favorite artworks. We all have different tastes for different reasons, so it’s cool to make some different stuff that different people will like. But most importantly it’s cool that you’re making stuff that YOU like.
A lovely read Els thank you! I agree with Nanette, seeing a collection of work grow is really exciting. I love them, and I specially the woman in black ink with the bright skirt - the black ink feels like a pivot here? Or just in this context? Xx
I love these Ella!
Thanks Jess!! 🥰🥰

Great post Ella! It's so exciting to see a collection of work grow and develop. The ceramics with flowers are gorgeous and have so much personality!
Thank you for starting Accountability Club, it's such a helpful way to start the day! xx
Yay, so fab to have you! And thanks 🥰
