Hello and happy Friday!
Today feels like a bonus day for me. On Wednesday evening, when I was worrying about deadlines, I cried to Nick (my husband): I have to get this and this done by Friday, but I have to do this and this today. How will I get it all done 😫 to which he replied quite calmly: but tomorrow is Thursday, so you have two days. What?! You can guess what happened next. I spent all of yesterday thinking it was Friday, so today feels like a BOGOF1 day! Side note: this reminds me of the time I was 37 for three years! I spent all of 36 anticipating the impending 37 to the extent that I kept thinking I was 37, then when I was actually 37 I was 37 (obvs!), and then when I turned 38, I had been 37 for so long, I continued to identify as 37. 39 was a bit of a shock - lolz!
Anyway, I am here with the replay of this month’s Picture Book Club. As ever, it was a really interesting and inspiring discussion with more than one fascinating tangent. We were discussing The Queen in the Cave written and Illustrated by Julia Sarda.
And I am going to stay one step of the game now and let you know about next month’s Picture Book Club. I will do a proper post, but in case you want to get the book and add to your diary nice and early. The next book will be (drumroll please) I Talk Like a River, written by Jordan Scott and Illustrated by Sydney Smith.
Time and Date: Weds 25th October - 8pm BST (this is one day before the clocks go back, I just checked!)
If you don’t already own this book, can I suggest you get it from, friends of Gather•Filter•Make:
